The islands of the Aeolian or Lipari Islands are a real insider tip in Italy. Lipari, Panarea, Stromboli, Vulcano, Salina, Alicudi and Filicudi - the islands in the north of Sicily have always been the setting for films and literature when it comes to drama and passion in the shadow of the volcanoes. The islands are ideal for island hopping, the mountains of fire still determine the lives of the residents. Feel this unique atmosphere during your 8-day trip.
Arrival at Palermo or Catania airport, where you will be greeted by your tour guide. Transfer to Milazzo, from where you can take a ferry or a speedboat to Lipari (crossing approx. 1 hour). Joint short transfer to your hotel in Lipari. Seven nights in Lipari.
After breakfast you have time in the morning to explore Lipari independently. In the afternoon you take an island tour and visit the villages of Pianoconte, Quattropani and Acquacalda. Overnight stay.
The morning is free for you to explore on your own. After lunch at the hotel, you will take a motorboat to the northern island ofi Panarea where you will first take a tour of the island past the famous Cala Junco bay. You can swim during the boat trip (depending on the weather). You will make a stop in Panarea before you take the motorboat to the islands in front of Panarea. In the evening your motorboat will bring you to the fire route of the active volcano Stromboli, which you can experience from the boat. Late return to Lipari. Overnight stay.
Today you take an additional excursion to a winery including a guided tour and tasting of wine wood-fired bread, caper pie, olives and cheese, followed by a walk to the kaolin quarries and the Chiesa Vecchia.
Use the day to take an optionalexcursion to the island of Salina: After breakfast you will take a ferry to the island of Salina, known as the island of capers. Once you have arrived in Vadichiesa, you will visit the small church of the Madonna del Terzito. We continue to Pollara, located in an old crater with a well-known bathing bay - this is where the film The Postman was shot. Then you drive to Malfa, to Lingua with the small salt lake and to Santa Marina Salina, where you will visit two churches. Return to Lipari in the afternoon.
Today a visit to another island is part of the travel program: With the motorboat you get to the island of Vulcano. The boat trip takes you along the southeast side of Lipari, past Vulcanello, the horse grotto to the small settlement of Gelso (short stay - depending on the weather) and to the port of Levante. During the tour, there is a swimming (weather permitting). You will then have free time in Vulcano harbor to perhaps take sulfur mud bath (optional, not included - old swimwear recommended!). Then return to Lipari.
Transfer to the airport and return flight.
